. Got out for a couple of hunts this weekend at 4 schools . I didn't find silver or gold but I had a couple of heart stoppers :laughing7: . The first one was yesterday morning in the middle of a soccer field . I had a +26 right on the surface . I looked down and saw gold , not :BangHead: ! It is marked 18K and looks good but does not pass any acid tests :BangHead: . I also found a double ring , two joined together , also junk .
This morning I had a +72 at 3 inches . When I pulled back the plug I saw a big diamond  . It's junk once again :laughing7: . The two other rings found were also plated . The two wheats found are a 1952S and a 1953 . Total clad for both hunts were $12.20 .

Now that you've had your cardio for the week you can get down to finding the real deal. Looks like you have plenty of neat stuff to dig.

Nice group of finds! The gold band looks good!?!

Nice cardio hunt. Too bad..now; you may want to test that 18K one again. It looks legit. Even if it plated, the flakes should test 18K.

Looks like that 18K shows 18KP.. "Karat Plated"?

I've found it's really hard to acid test a plated ring. Scratching results in going through the plating, too easily... Still, though, a RING is a RING! I love finding them, because of the momentary "Heart stop" Just love it. :)

Like I said...don't toss that ring...its 18K plumb! The "P" stands for "plumb" meaning that the ring is exactly 18K; no more, no less. Congrats!
What Are the Markings for 18-Karat Gold?

It does not even pass 10k acid test . I tried 14k and 18k , it won't pass . I believe the P stands for plated .

I'm sorry the rings were fake. Congratz on what looks to have been a fun hunt though!
