Bullet shell ID desired

Any idea what kind of bullet this might be? I can't make out any markings on the head stamp.

Here are the dimensions:

2.50" long
0.47" wide at head
0.33" wide at point

You can check the I.D if it is .308 It is 30-06.....Osage

I always appreciate a poster doing the work of making accurate measurements for an ID request, so, thank you. The measurements indicat your cartridge-casing is for a .30 military rifle. It may be a .30-06 casing, as Skettered said. But we'll need to see a full-length of view of it, because the length of its "neck" is important for distinguishing it among several varieties of .30 military casings.
