Bullet help

Went to the mountains and thought I had a lead on some old homesteads but pretty much lucked

Found a ton of scrap and some casings but this one bullet looks strange like it has a pin on it? Or is it a piece of the bullet pulled back a bit

What do you think

It's a fired bullet that has had the jacket peeled back so that it looks like a pin. The lead is encased in a copper jacket to keep from leading up the barrel of the gun that fired it. This replaced the greased lead bullet. Looks like your find started out as a hollow point. Need measurements in thousands of an inch to tell caliber.

it's a fired modern era bullet, I'd just throw it in the junk box.
