I'm simply amazed at how my site continues to consistently produce bullets and other artifacts.... There was some serious action here! Not my best lead day out here, but I'm pretty happy with the variety! A couple fired Enfields, a heavily smashed .69 French Dragoon, the usual 3-ringers, some nice buck-n-ball loads, half of a heel plate, what appears to be a fragment of a Confederate side-loader fuse, and a couple whatizits (any guidance on those would be appreciated!). Two of the 3-Ringers were laying exposed (we've had some heavy rains recently).

Forgot to post this.... A 3-ringer I left "in-situ". Packed into the hard clay (and surrounded by square nails).

Very VERY cool! Glad you saved that in-situ chunk of clay with the bullet in it. Will make a great display piece! :occasion14:

Great assortment of bullets! I agree with UnderMiner - the in-situ will make a great display. Thanks for sharing.

I see you have what I call a "dirty load" bullet. The one with the ramrod mark on the nose were it was forced into a dirty gun. I have a few of those.
Can you imagine being in a fire fight and haveing trouble loading your gun? Nice finds!! Congrats

Thanks guys! And yeah, the rammer marks on that bullet really astounded me. Any idea what the best way to preserve that dirt clod would be?
