That looks like a Gardner one-groove .58 cal

I believe that's a Smith carbine. M&M #70. I found one yesterday.

Dnewbury2 is correct... it is an unfired civil war US .50-caliber Smith Carbine bullet. See bullet #73 in the updated "Handbook Of Civil war Bullets & Cartridges" by James E. Thomas and Dean S. Thomas.
