i just got dizzy. takes a special person to do that

I consider myself good with hieghts but youd'e never get me up there. Even when I was young and stupid, and I stayed that way for a while; young and stupid that is.
I remember holding the end of a double 2x12 ridge beam 28' long over my head standing on the end of 6' staging on the attic level, building a new house looking out off the end 3 stories down.

Damn Merf, now I know why your posts are so electrifying. :tongue3: You are one brave soul. Any bungee jumping going on back then? :laughing9: Thanks for the pictures.
-Doug-
P.S. I'm afraid to go up on a roof!

What prevented you from tripping over your Kahoonas and falling ;D

Fear of falling LOL
Back then, before OSHA, nobody wore safety belts, It slowed you down too much.
We built several 345 KV tower lines and crews were in costant competition.
Amazingly there were very few serious accidents.
$6.55 an hour was top money back then.
AHHH The good old days. :headbang: ::)

Thanks Doug--- Actually I would be afraid to bungee jump.
Too many variables. I want to be able to grab something solid if I slip.
Great to here from you my friend.

Merf, I ironed work and climb towers in my younger days. Most I got paid back then was $7.25 hr. I like you, was one of the squirrels, but that was 35-40 years and fifty pounds ago. ;D

Those were good times GrayCloud----Jobs were plentiful, I was single with a 64 Vette, had lots of spending money, and the economy was booming.
No way I could do it now but back then it was exciting.

Haven't thought about it in a long time, but I still have my climbing belt with double chains and hooks. Doubt it will fit anymore. :(
Yep, we were young, fast cars, fast bikes and thought we were bullet proof. :icon_scratch:
My how age can change a man.
