i don't know if this belongs here but i am thinking a lot of you tnetters might enjoy as many artifacts were made from the great Tatonka (buffalo)
the horns and skulls, the scapula (shoulder blades used for hoes and shovels, squash knives, spoons, scrapers,
the ribs were used to make arrow shaft wrenches, the ribs were also used for making sled runners and stakes, the skulls were used for ceremonials,
the meat was used and used to make pemmican, the hides were used for clothing, sheltering and to make the round boats to navigate the missouri river and other waters,
and many other things which most of you already know
this is a few pictures that my sister in law Tamakewastewin LaDonna took the other day just north of fort yates up towards cannonball where a nice buffalo ranch is
this is south of Mandan north dakota she likes being able to watch them as she drives to work at the Standing Rock Sioux reservation, she is the director of tourism
this is a picture of the buffalo bull boats
when i was a kid they had a real one at the nd state museum and i would always look at it
