I found this today and thought it was junk until I cleaned it off and realized it was a buffalo nickel. It looks as if someone had spot welded or sodered a safety pin of some sort and had a eyelet on the top. The nickel is bent and shaped like a contact lens. It almost looks as if it was a make shift spoon. Any suggestions?

Bernie

Dang you beat me to it.....
What year on the Buff?

Well I cleaned it up a little more and the date has been welded/soldered over and is not visable. Sucks but it still is a buff.

Far out, man! FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH, I'm guessing this roach clip is commemorative of "Buffalo Springfield",a folk rock band of the 1960's. You know,Steven Stills,Neil Young,Jim Messina,et al.......

I guess I am too young to know those guys. I guess people were at the fair grounds having a great time one day and dropped their commemorative clip. I bet they were upset if they remembered that they had one. Thanks ;D

Don't mean to bring everyone "down" here....I owned a few..seen a few(in a museum I think) roach clips, and they usually had some means to keep em locked...I don't see anything on this to keep it closed..and are the arms flat or have a flat spot on the end or are they round?...can't tell from the picture...maybe I'm just hallucinating...Buffalo Springfield..still got the vinyl...as for puff...thanks, I'll be humming that all day...peace out

The ends are rusted pretty bad and broken up. Wont open or close because of the rust. Inside the so called clip it is flat and looks as if it was smooth at some point in time.

first the tips would have been a little longer.
and there would have been a little round Bead
that slid up towards the nickel
to open it. and you would slide it down
to clip it on to the Roaches Wing..

I read that in a book once.
