On digging this rusty clod of dirt out of the sugar sand I was going, "Ugh its some trash!" Tapped on the rusty clod with my Lesche a bit and a shape emerged :happy2: then I was going, "Yay its not trash!" Then the quest for ID started. http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/what/357991-cattle-head-what-tho.html
Thanks to the T-net guys who helped out I was able to post this with a name that fits :icon_thumright:

Nice find. You may want to soak it for a few days in apple cider vinegar and the rust may brush off nicely.

Nice finds:icon_thumleft: I found two conchos at the fairgrounds last month:headbang:

I am liking the rusty red coloring , would varnish or shellac be good for preserving its current coloration?
Very cool.....thanks for sharing

Hi cooper1841 thanks:headbang: what were your conchos found made from? Mine appears to be stamped steel perhaps.

This is a before/after ACV soak so you can see the potential results:

:hello2:Congrats on your bison concho! :icon_thumright: I like him just as he is -- shaggy! Especially like his look after I enlarged the pic. The real buffalo I've seen up close have all been shaggy -- some even gave me the hairy eyeball of suspiscion, lol. HAVE FUN! Andi

100_6523.JPG100_6569.JPGNot really sure, non magnetic though, not the pic on left. Cant find other pic, but it was like a round medallion, silver, about the size of a silver dollar
Thanks vpnavy 8-)
