Had a couple of hours this afternoon, on a field where the farmer is ploughing some rotten beet back into the ground. Got 3 buckles ranging from 13th/ 17th and 18th century. Also found a Elizabeth I hammered silver half groat broken cleanly in half. Last find was a nice button showing a Tudor rose design.

Nice button, not seen that variant, I think it 17th Century - I would be happy with that hunt :icon_thumright:

If he tested the first half & it was low in sugar, the the fuel costs of getting low grade beet might have played a factor :dontknow:
