This is all things I've found in my yard. ( my home is built on old property) . Obviously some are simple buckles ( brass perhaps ?) probably from harness and such... I believe the circle is a rein guide( any ideas on age?). The copper hook, I'm not sure what it is other than a hook. And the last 3 iron items I really don't know... Any ideas and approximate ages?

The top piece in the last photo looks like a piece of wagon/buggy hardware. It would be the end of a longer piece. VPR
That one has a buckle ... Possibly to tie down the covering on the wagon ? .. I seem to have a wagon complete but 10 inches down in my yard and scattered:)

Looking at the pic again I think that it is the bottom part of a horses hame. Not a part of wagon hardware. If you google "Horse hames" you will see what I mean.

Most of it is horse related, as for the question on the rein guide; I'm not sure how you pin down a date as they all looked similar from the 19th C-20th C.:dontknow:

Maybe someone can tell us if they subtly changed over time? (I'm guessing that its a design that work for about 100 years & there needed to be very little improvement)

Looked up horse hame... What I am sure of now, is why I find so many circle loops in my yard!
