Looks like the right time era to me, but I'm not an authority on buckles. Nice find.

Its yours to do what you want for sure but I'd personally keep the patina.

Lots of debate when they are from exactly. I think they were used for a pretty long time. I've found them at sites from the late 1700's to the early 1900s.

I place these in the mid 19th C, some argue otherwise, I would be happy with early 19th C but 18th C I don't think.
