Buckle/ plate

Found in north Mississippi very close to Shiloh battlefield. Its 4.5 x 5.5 cm. Looks like a womans head. She looks just like lady liberty but with different hair. Ive searched everything I can think of. Thanks for any help

I took the liberty of turning the head so it's right side up, and easier for me to look at. Still can't help you though, sorry.

looks very much like a clip corner buckle with the attachment hooks missing. Many of these are void of the hooks as they where usually weakly soldered on. not sure what to make of the impression on yours. This style was used pretty much from the Revolutionary War through the Civil War. Nice find! Maybe someone will be able to pin point the stamping to something specific, could possibly be civilian, but more likely militia related.

we have a little more info about the buckle/plate. Someone said it looks like a Sons of Liberty buckle but still can't seem to find it anywhere online. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
