Today I went to a newer highschool built in the 1960's hoping to find to find a little new silver and clad. Instead I found a mid 1850's home site in the field. First good target is a Bank of Upper Canada 1852 half penny token. Woo-hoo first ever and my oldest coin and it is gorgeous. Popped heavy brass crotal bell #2 but it is broken on the bottom. I did bump it a little with the shovel at the number 2 but I still love it. Got two indians, match stick holder, thimble, toe tap, tiny D buckle, a beautiful detailed clip possibly for suspenders and a buch of other stuff. Even some clad.

Beautiful finds! Congratulations

A most excellent hunt! The bank token is in super good condition. Just proves that you never can predict what a site will produce. Now hurry up and get back there!

Nice token the soils were kind to it, as the IH.
Makes for a great day out detecting getting something that predates the site by 100+ years.

Nice finds. We’re you searching near your home town?

really nice variety of finds. How big would you saw the #2 crotal bell is?
It is just a hair smaller than a golf ball. To answer another question, I was hunting the school where I grew up. Not where I live now.
