Great conditions after 2 days of rain & it was time for me to have a holiday. Many of you already know, I'm not a lay on the beach in Spain kinda guy. We have now gridded the whole site (Scatter), in only 2 days, this is a massive area, so we are pleased to pin it down so quick & move on.
I personally got 2 more Roman silvers taking me to 6 in 4 outings, that's not bad at all.:icon_thumright: Shame they weren't better today but hopefully they will come later.
6 hours for me, & 4.5 hrs for Cru'Dad

Roman Pot Shards (From the 2 days)
Roman Animal Teeth & Metal workings (From the 2 days)
GR Padlock Cover
4 Broken Fibula (1 from Copse Field)
15 roman Bronze Coins (1 from Copse Field)
2 poor Roman Silvers
Roman Hair Pin
Iron Age (Celtic) Bracelet piece
Bronze Age Spear Tip (freak find)
Cast Celtic Potin 80-50BC - Rare find & pushes back the site a little older. (Sadly badly broken as it was in very fine condition for mostly Tin)

Great work Cru, looks like a very good site, especially with being able to push the date back even further. Forgive my ignorance, where is the Celtic Potin and what is it?

I dug a very similar Bronze Age spear tip when I was over, surely the oldest thing I found. Good luck on your future hunts there.

Looks like a good time to me!

I don't guess that you two leave very much with your gridding, well until the ground gets broken up or after another good soaking rain. I always enjoy seeing the great variety of finds that you find, so much history to marvel at. DL

As always, historic and cool finds. And as an old guy myself, glad to hear Cru'Dad is back swinging. Congrats to both!

A Potin is the earliest series of coins ever minted/Cast in Britain, only produced in Kent from about 120BC. It's the broken bottom right coin on the blue background.

We will always miss a few things, but what we can be sure of with our GPS maps is that we grid the whole area of the known scatter.
