Got out today. . Found the spear head and this dog like bronze item. Any ideas on the dog?

Can't help on the dog but is the wedge sort of thing an axe head or something? I found one very similar just recently. Seemed too small to be an axe to me. Chisel?

Thanks!

Yea that's an axe head. .. they are small. . Some are bigger but its a bronze age axe head

Nice Axe, looks like you might have a very good site there :icon_thumleft:

Looks to be a broken wedge indeed..

The dog head item is very similar to a Colonial period sword pommel device that I saw here a while back - that one made Banner because it
was silver if I remember correctly . Outstanding find !

Hey argentium... I have ot on a whst is it thread.. gtyong some really great info on it.. have a peek :) and thanks for your comments

I agree. It Looks Like A Pommel Or Pole Topper Of Some Sort. Pictures Are To Dark To Tell For Sure.

Ho magnum. . If you go to the whst is it forum..we have a thread going there with grest info coming on it.. :)

I saw it. Ho? Lol. I will look at my book when I get home, any way you can get a clearer pic?

There are other sword pommels in the book with lions heads but this seems to be the best match. A clearer pic would help but the closest I can find is an American light dragoon saber (#14 Neumanns pg 256). It looks like a good candidate for your piece. If so, great find! Check out the pics & description from the book. If this is it fantastic find!

There was no Bronze age in the Americas, is it (the Celt) copper?
