Hey everyone I am probably crazy, but I have what I believe to be a bone fragment that I was wondering if it were part of a knife handle. I am fairly sure it to be bone, and the inside looks intentionally modified. I am probably wrong with my imagination, but I need to put what if’s to rest. Thanks! 00ACEEE4-9F21-4EBF-BE13-14CD78DCF860.jpeg34BE5271-B6A0-431C-B5FE-66AEEE5E5F45.jpeg

That was exactly my first thought as well John.
Likely part of a knife handle, probably a pocketknife.

If a knife handle, I'd expect to see a hole in it to fasten it to the together...

I do see what you mean about the apparently man-made markings. But it doesn't really look like bone to me.

Could it be ivory?

I would agree with a handle. It's a nice find, they aren't found often.

If it's a knife handle the rest of it should be close by. Cool find

It looks like it is more of a composite than bone.
Also looks to thick to be a pocket knife handle.
I would say it's part of some sort of insulator missing the metal parts.

Thanks for the responses y’all! I can see how this object resembles a handle and also how it doesn’t. Looking at it in hand it’s pretty mangled, and 100% identification can be difficult. Regardless I want to thank y’all for the responses and engaging with my posts.
