Other
The other day, I ripped the crotch out of my favorite diggin’ pants. My last pair of Navy issued woodland camo from 1996. So, I went on to “the eBay” and bought some new ones............. anyway, I was so damn excited, I went out for the rare late afternoon hunt. I didn’t find s**t for coins, but my last hole was a bucket lister for me, a size 9 sterling thimble, 50 feet from an old baseball field, weird😳

Awesome find. Even though I only have 3 to my name, I like finding those thimbles. They are neat little relics.

I don't fit into my BDU's anymore. :laughing7:

Great detecting pants and kudos for holding onto them for 20+ years. Very cool thimble, what is the little pin in the photo?

Not sure yet, I’m letting it dry before I take the Dremel tool to it (;

Just a little copper hair pin, not too old, the pin is still intact. Rand up a 17 on my Nox at 6”, it was supposed to be a trime ):

on the top, inside it’s marked sterling with a design, I don’t see a makers mark unless the design is it.

That should be it ....Might be able to date it...

Nice looking thimble Joe. Looks like Granny was knittin while the kids were playing ball.

That is one neat thimble. You had better take some care with your britches.What years did you serve in the military? I was drafted in 1951 foe Korean war.

Nice thimble...maybe the place had homes there before it was a baseball field?

I found one waaay back in the 80's. It's smashed and I didn't think much of it as I'm a coinshooter. Now, I cherish it and wish I could find another or more anyway. That's a sweet one, Joe, Grats!
