I know it isn't but it sure reminds me of a motor cycle peg. Anyway - it might help if you take two more pictures - one of the end (can't tell if it is squared or rounded - falls out of your picture) and the top end (square). It sure looks like it screws into something and might have a nut on the other end. It looks so darn familiar!

ok so the top as you can kinda see is square and the bottom is tapered with a small hole that goes all the way through it

Are those threads ? From what I can see they appear to be running horizontal and not down at any angle. Looks like it drops(?) into position ? I agree, it looks familiar and I think I saw one out in my garage recently in some of my dad's stuff. I spent my younger years on my dad's farm so I have alot of his stuff. Then it has a # 7 stamped on it. The hole have any wear around it ?, like for a cotter pin or something similar ?

I can see a slight resemblence, but then again, what I see is for modern era. You may have a point SkaBa.
But I would expect it to have a larger hole in it, but he is saying it is small.

yeah there is threads just below the square and the hole that runs through the length og it is about the size of a sewing needle

SkaBa is right, it looks like a drawpin from a 3 point hitch. May be wrong, but sure looks like one.

Needle size hole running length wise? Not a draw pin then. Sure has the appearance though.

How big is it?

Well if it's brass it may be a water nozzle of some sort - especially with a "needle sized hole" running the length of the piece - or it could be a jet off a carburetor, a nozzle of a fertilizer.... How big is the piece? 1 inch or 16 inches?

I could think of several uses for it, it could be part of a antique mechanical puller (but it is not steel), it could be a suspension pin (like on a leaf spring), it also could be part of a pully or bearing installer, also the hole might be a greese port. But with it being a non spark part a nozzle, valve, etc part fits as does a mechanisum for a canon or maybe a large firearm.

Nozzle in a tractor carb? (Part #14 below). We need a size or photo with known object like a quarter or ruler.
