brass lamp cap (solved)

Found a bit of change today, nothing old but I did find a neat old threaded brass cap. I know I have seen one of these caps before but it just isn't coming too me. Any one else know what it is? Its about 5/8" wide

still do they sell them in the store next door to me!!! not brass though only stainless!!

Looks like the top nut off of a plumb bob or chalk box.

Lamp part. The hole is for a pull chain.

Lamp part!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats where I saw one of these before, definantly it. My mom used to collect them when I was a kid.
