That was from an artical I found on line that took me to a book from my collection. Charles Harris western campaigns page 209....found it.
That sure looks like it to me. Awesome work. Thanks for taking the time to

come, btw very awesome find you got there. Here is the article that I refered to....
Thanks for the link. If it is CW period . I would think it would be a very rare find.
Also, I stated that it was made of copper but after closer investigation it seem to be brass.

Thanks for the research, again looks pretty similar, don't know if it would be British being found here in Tennessee but you never know. Thanks Again

In the article, the author says they contacted Charles Harris and inquired about the pin in his book on page 209 and he informed her that it was from a Federal encampment i... and as it is stated in the book's caption it was found in Dalton Ga. which is not terribly far from middle Tennessee.
