Brass Guages With Stamp Marks?

Howdy Folks. I recovered six strange brass items in a spill. 5 have stamp marks and one has none. I don't recall ever seeing such an item before so I have no clue what they are. They measure 1 1/4 inch X 3/4 inch. Any assistance is appreciated. Kurios1 Forgive me for posting this twice. I thought I lost the original post but, I guess not. They look like wards out of a lock

They ( similar) have been posted before as being printing press plates. ( I think.)
The edges at notched V shaped end should show a letter or icon.
