Seems to have teeth/gears around the bold where the slot is. Also is this showing up as solved? I cant figure out how mark or unmarked on my app

It's a spring loaded Victorian ceiling or floor door bolt.
They screwed to the door at the top and bottom to secure the door on double doors.
2 examples to give you an idea....

I looked at those for a bit too but nothing about it moves that way. The bolt would not move up and down, it would have to turn

The "threaded" part is actually the remains of the spring.
These door bolts only moved up/down maybe a half an inch.
There was a push button on the top and a release lever sticking out of the slot to release it.
Maybe a bit of electrolysis will show more detail.
I had these on the front doors of the 1860's building we owned... Of course I could be wrong....
