🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Brass Cobra lever-handle-something

Found this nice hunk of brass something. The top end (above the C in Cobra) is broken. On comparison with other photos, it does not appear to be connected with the Ford AC Cobra car from the 1960s, as the logo and lettering are wrong. Weight and appearance are solid brass. No other markings except the word "Cobra."

It does appear to be shaped like a handle or snap latch of some kind. Not a bottle opener. Found on a popular beach (Santa Cruz, CA).

I recognized the back but couldn't figure out where. Rookie mistake, pound it down before it's seated.

I agree a cam lock for a hose end fitting. Have used other brands never used Cobra.
