BRYAN LIKE THE BUTTON. AT FIRST LOOK , I THOUGHT IT TO BE A BLOW HOLE BUT SOME ONE WILL FILL IN THE DOTS SHORTLY.

Hmmm...this is a tough one. When turned 180 degrees, the insignia looks like a telescope on a tripod. Just a guess, as I have not been able to find anything to confirm, but might be some sort of Observer Corp button? Possible forest service - fire observer?

Interesting design. To me it looks like 3 lollipops on a campfire. :dontknow:

Can we get a more detailed picture? I agree the button is late 19th - early 20th C.

That's a much better picture. But I still don't know what it represents.

What does it look like to you?

Logs at the bottom? Or 'Y' stick - like a sling shot?

Any thoughts on the three balls that seem to be on sticks? The sticks almost look like 2 tine forks stuck in the log.

Cherries?

Whatever it represents you are safe in saying it is a Victorian era picture button.

I think Matt is on the right track with plant life. I think it's a branch with berries of some sort (or cherries), as when enlarged I think there is other foliage/plant stuffs in the background.

I agree that whatever the design represent it is organic.
This is enjoyable. First finding the button, which took a good part of a day and then the sleuthing part[emoji41]

Your button reminds me of this one that I found, except my example has a rusted back. I believe your button to be plant related too.
