Sadly, I haven't metal detected at all this year. I usually hit a couple cellar holes over the summer but just wasn't feeling it.
I was recently given permission from a customer to swing around his circa 1820' Maine home. Only had about 45 minutes before the rain came.
Found 4 spoon bowls, 2 toasted IHP's & this buckle before calling it a hunt.

Buckle measures 3"x 2", looks like I may have hit it where an adornment might have been attached (rechecked the hole, nada). Doesn't seem to have any other markings.
Thanks for Looking, Have a great day everyone!

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Nice find :) If you hit it and knocked the center out do you think dirt would have been packed in the corners ?

Is there a plate or medallion on the front of the buckle?

Is there a plate or medallion on the front of the buckle?
Unfortunately No, but it sure looks like may have been at one time. Note the 3 prongs folded on the back, can see where they protrude through the front.
Thank you all for the help!

May be my old eyes but it almost looks like thetr may have been a star on the front? Regardless, Congrats for the awesome find!!
