Found this in a city park here in Michigan...When I pulled it from the dirt it was completely green. Any help ID-ing this would be great! what is it.jpgwhat is it (b).jpgwhat is it (e).jpgwhat is it (d).jpg

There from overhead wires or power lines, find them fairly often when hunting, brass and copper wire

Commonly called a "p clamp" in the telephone aerial construction world.....that one is designed specifically for the old two-pair dropwire.
I have dropped literally hundreds over the course of many years....they disappear into bushes, trees, yards, garbage, etc. so don't swing a detector under the pole lines I've worked unless you collect them:laughing7:

Thanks for asking gdzag, & thanks for the answers .
I have dug Many of these over the Years & many do look Old (How many years have they been in use?)
Again COOL! One less piece out of the What is it Pile & into the Recycling Pile ...Def, Brass.W/Copper wire of course.

P.S. How did you get it so Clean?

Davers... I pretty much knew it wasn't worth much... I used Muriatic Acid and and wire brush. I'm not kicked out of the MDing Union am I?

No.. Your still in.. Now you know not to put so much effort into those things .
I said it was brass but it looks like copper.. They might be copper & brass I need to 'scrape' the one I threw in the Brass pile yesterday.

J.I.C.- If you think a piece is really old or Cool looking It's my opinion & most collectors that You keep that Original Green patina on the piece.

Peace
Davers

We wont kick you out but dont forget to mark it as SOLVED

I assume it's simple but I always had issues changing titles .
Is there a special way to do this?
