Hi everyone, Red here, I hope you all had a great weekend, with lots of awesome and interesting finds! We weren't able to detect this weekend, Chug has tendonitis in his arm really bad, he's missed a few days of work, and is going through dirt and sand withdrawals!
Since we couldn't play, Chug decided we should check out a place we've never been to, he's lived here most of his life, 25 years for me! Anyway, the sun was warm, and it was such a gorgeous day, we just had to get out of the house for a bit, otherwise we wouldn't be able to quite climbing the walls!
We finally went to the fort! :hello2: It was so awesome, and even though we can't detect there, we still had fun! I took lots of pictures, and gained even more respect for our ancestors and how they lived.

Now we are finding them, for free, in parks.20160925_110648.jpg All the barracks are being renovated, along with other buildings. 20160925_110758.jpg 20160925_101104.jpg
We went to one other place I've always wanted to go, I can't stop smiling, there are so many interesting and awesome history of Vancouver. I want to go back here one day when its open, 20160925_112732.jpg This house is amazing, the way the wood was worked, the dovetails, and chinking, so much work involved, and time. 20160925_113151.jpg 20160925_112903.jpg some of these stones are huge, I love how they fit together! 20160925_113331.jpg20160925_113457.jpg 20160925_113501.jpg this is Covington house, it was built in 1848, if I remember right. I know I've posted lots of pictures, this weekend wasn't so much the finds, though it was a blast finding rocks in unusual places. Today was just one of those days when life is good, the fall colors get more beautiful every year, I don't know how to explain it, except I'll remember this weekend always. Life ain't always beautiful, but its a beautiful ride.
Remember the owl Chug found? Well, he has a name, and a new home, 20160925_142539.jpg 20160925_142610.jpg Chug named him Hootie hoo, and he loves his new home, I gotta do something with the jewelry we find. I love wearing a piece I've made, it gets me talking about our finds, we have so many people who ask what kind of stuff we find, working them into jewelry or plants with decorations from stuff we find, makes for interesting stories and my designs are one of a kind, I never repeat a design, we get some lively conversations, did you know I'm really shy? I tell you what, people see you with your machine and we are constantly asked if we found any treasures, my answer is always time with my husband and best friend, and enjoying time away from kids, jobs, the idiots, you know what I mean, the ones that think we are stupid for "wasting" our time digging, when we could make more at a street corner, yes I heard that one....I have red hair, green eyes and I'm left handed and Irish, I can still get my point across while still being a "proper" lady :laughing7: One person one day asked Chug what he was looking for, he replied "Waldo" :notworthy: 20160925_115820.jpg 20160925_125343.jpg
Time to get some rest, I've been working on a new piece, but its driving me batty! 20160924_165159.jpg Take care everyone, and stay safe, HH! FB_IMG_1474031055308.jpg Red:hello:[SUB][SUP]

Looks like you did have a rocky start to your day! Thanks for the tour! That is one part of the country I've always wanted to visit.
Tendonitis is a pain! I'm dealing with it at the moment, fortunately I work in physical therapy. NSAIDS, ice, massage, rest and exercises for tendonitis is all very beneficial, but stop the repeditive motion that causes the stress on the tendon to reduce the inflamation. You live long enough something is gonna get you.
Won't be long before your digging again.

Great post Red. You have quite a sense of humor! :laughing7: Enjoyed reading!!

I don't understand how you keep finding those painted rocks every where you go! What do you make of it? Always enjoy your posts. You both seem like a happy couple
