Went home today for Thanksgiving and my loving mother went to the bank for me earlier today and withdrew a box of nickels and a box of pennies out of my account at my home bank to have me look through.

From the Box of Pennies I found:

(11 Common Wheats)
1942
1944-D
1948
1949-D
1950-D
1953-D
1956
1956-D
1957
1957-D
1958

From the Box of Nickels I had a really low amount of pre-1950s, which are the only ones I collect. However, I did manage 2 war nickels and got a sweet little honeypot of 2009s.

2 x 1943-P
28 x 2009-D

Happy Thanksgiving to all and HH!!

Why do you keep 09s? I find several dollars worth per box.

The 2009 keepers are nickels not cents. It would be a dramatic anomaly to get several dollars worth of 2009 nickels in a box one time. For it to be routine is not statistically possible.
