I just came back from the bank, picked up 3 boxes of nickels and 1 box each of dimes, and pennies. i just notices that 1 of the boxes of Nickels is all 2010-P. I see they are going alittle above face on ebay but i really would like to avoid going that route at all costs. Does anyone know of any other ways to get rid of them? Ill post my finds later once I start opening the rest of the boxes. Thanks for any help you can give.

one way is to turn them into the bank! j/k :laughing9:
ya, id go w/ a coin dealer/craigslist like already said...good luck!
also, if craigslist, meet in a public, well populated area to avoid dying.

yeah. The dying part really sucks your energy out of you for the rest of the day.

Stay in public. I've met not only at banks, but even at mcdonald's or Wendy's. it is still public and works.

And bring your 9 MM with you.

Thanks for suggestions guys. I ended up selling them to a local coin shop for 1.6x face. There are definitely some shady characters on craigslist.

Just getting back into coin hunting after about 1 1/2 years off. Starting back slow. Curious, did you open all the rolls to see if they are all 2010 P? Also why are they worth more? Did the coin guy pay that easily??? Sounds wierd to buy brand new 2010 nickels for 5 cents then sell them for more?

I sold 6 boxes at more than $600 each when they first came out. I averaged 6.5 times face value.

Supply and demand I guess.
