Bourbon Balls

2 and ½ cup of finely crushed vanilla wafers (approx. 63)
½ cup of powdered sugar
1 cup finely chopped nuts
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate bits
½ cup of bourbon (rum or brandy may be substituted)
3 tbsps light corn syrup
Extra powdered sugar

Melt chocolate over hot water.
Add corn syrup and bourbon.
Combine crushed wafers, powdered sugar and nuts.
Add chocolate misture. Let stand 30 mins.
Shape into 1 inch balls and roll in the extra sugar.
Put in covered container for 3 days to ferment

I made these at Christmas using Ashleen's recipe. If you only knew the trouble I caused making these things with a $200 bottle of some rare Scotch. ::)

Yep.....gotta watch it...they will creep up on you. :)
 

I helped my mom make these 27 years ago, for my EMT class, when she wasnt looking i increased the rum content. took them to class, my instructor loved them, wouldnt quit eating them, got very ummm snookered, we had to take him home. we found out the next class that he was a church of god preacher!!!!!! he said he talked to god alot that night while holding onto the throne...
