Ok I just got this in today... I was Very Excited to finally get it in and took that puppy out for a spin around the yard...
I have not used a MD in many many years and I am by no way considered an good source of info on MD'ing..
I was rather disappointed at the feel of the VLF very plasticky feel too it (it is plastic but I think you know what I mean)
I was able to find several things around the yard I have some real gold bullion and silver and I ran some tests on it just to see how it reacts and well it is very basic to say the least...
has 2 knobs
1. Power/strength of the beep
2. Trash control.. (did not see a great deal of control to say the least)
Mind you I spent less then 90.00 on this thing shipped and well I think I will be handing it off to my kids pretty soon as they REALLY had a blast MD'ing for the first time.
I really could not figure out how to pinpoint a specific area on where exaclty to dig once it did beep... I would say the readings were getting read but I think it's too broad to pinpoint a particular area and start digging in that area.. I dunno I am still testing this unit and I think it would make a nice kids MD But I think I am getting more spoiled as the more reasearch I do the more power I want in the MD..
I was able to find a brass hose nozzle that my son lost last year (I was pretty happy about that honestly!) so.... till I update this thread I wont even give this MD a ratng yet...
I did find some pennies and a bunch of screws and bolts too.. and my veruy first fine with it was a bottle cap
