I have an LRP with a bad stock coil, confirmed by putting a friends LRP coil on it. I'm saving for a new machine but would like to use the LRP in the meantime but don't want to invest $150 in the original coil. Will the BH 8" coil work on the LRP. On the BH website the LRP is not listed for that coil but the connector looks to be the same. If I can spend $35 on that to get by until I save enough to buy something nicer, that would be amazing.

Is the coil broke or do you think a wire tore? If you think a wire tore you might want to attempt to repair it no harm no foul. :dontknow:

The coil and the cord look perfect physically. Is there a common failure point on coils? Like the cord to coil connection? Can coils be opened?

from my experience,, if the coil worked at one time and the housing is not broken then there is a tear in the wire, probably at the top of the rubber the rubber piece circled red in the pick below. More than likely you snagged it on something while detecting.

Awesome, thank you. I will check that out tonight. Nothing to lose.
