I found a couple cool bottles while doing community service. I would like to know when they were made, and what they were used for. The second bottle says 1980 at the top of the base, but I am not sure if that is the production date.

They appear to be common modern bottles to me. Keep looking there's older ones out there still to be found. Good luck.

I used to find many, many example of the brown-amberish colored bottle fishing in the grand River in Central Michigan. IIRC, the entire phrase on the top says "Not to be refilled or reused" or something along those lines. Most I found were the same size as yours, but i did find one that was a good 2-3" taller once. I was always under the impression, from who or what I can't exactly recall, that these bottles were used by pharmacies for mixing their own treatments like cough syrups and the like. I could be so far from being right about that though...

The brown one is a 1960s beer bottle. The other might be wine or whiskey.

I was told the first one could be a whiskey bottle by one of my teachers (the community service was related to school work).
