1- Warranted Flask Whiskey
2- Plain Oval Prescription Ware
3- Shoo-Fly Whiskey Flask
4- Round Cornered French Square medicine tablet or shoe polish.
5- looks lika a homeopathic vial but could be modern ginseng.
6- French Square medicine tablet.

All late 1800's to early 1900 cork tops. (not sure of the ginseng looking vial)

These are official shapes from an old glass manufacturers catalog. I can post another pic or two if you need them.

I guess they used a Whiskey shape for Bitters as well. :icon_thumright: In reality, there is not much difference between bitters and whiskey LOL. Nothing like a high alcohol content bitters to aid digestion, restore the appetite and prevent Malaria. :D cool pic.

Pics 135 and 136 look like pics of a little tonic bottle - http://www.chinesemedicinetimes.com/section/109/1/ginseng - I find 'em frequently, those and the little aluminum tops that go with 'em.
And to Bigcy - what's the book your posting pics from? I could really use a copy of that!

"Bottle Identification" copyrighted 1965 by H.E. Putman. This book is a reprint of the 1911 Illinois Glass Company "Bottles of Every Description" catalog. It also has some supplement pages from the "National Bottlers Gazette" 1892 & 1895. http://www.historicbottles.com/bottlebooks.htm scroll down.
