I'm looking to get some info about some good hiking boots that are also waterproof.....or at least resistant to a good degree. Which ones do you folks like? They have to be comfortable to walk in all day.

I wear Danner Pronghorn Camohide GTX boots.Very comfy and warm. For hot weather I wear the Danner USAF TFX HOT. Not sure if these models are still available,do a check on Danner web site.

Ive got a pair of ankle height Vasque hiking boots that are my favorite. Not completely waterproof, but enough that i usually dont have any wet sock problems.

My personal favorite brand for water resistant boots are "Bogs," not the cheapest boots, but definitely high quality.

Danner Danner and Danner. I am walking on concrete 40-50 hours a week and am comfortable, nothing else has come close,I've tried them ALL. 16285 8" Workman with replaceable Vibram soles. Walking anywhere on turf, woods, wet ground....a dream. EXTREMELY comfortable and durable. And a sole that is second to none for applying pressure to a shovel and squashing plugs back into the ground efficiently. Around 250.00 a pair, give or take...I wear them 24/7.

Danner boots may be great, but you have to have a narrow foot to wear them (I don't think I have Fred Flintstone feet, I think my feet are fairly normal). Merrel make some boots that might work for you. I have a couple pairs that I wore in AFG and have had no complaints. My favorites were by Patagonia (for fit and comfort), but the lowers didn't last too long.

I wear Keen hiking shoes. I like these low ones, but they make a mid cut just like it. Waterproof and comfy, but stiff for shovel stomping.

Men's Targhee II | KEEN Footwear

Good luck brother!

All good info...but remember, in terms of water-proof...your best choice is a boot with a "GORE-TEX" tag. Big difference, water-proof, water resistant...the Gore-tex boot will NOT get wet. Believe me, I work outdoors and one of my friends turned me on to the Gore-TEX thing and I've NEVER had wet feet. Sure, cost more...but u get what you pay for...Ddf

I think the shape of each person's feet are suited to their own particular brand. I personally love Asolo boots. The only time I ever got blisters in them was one day where I walked 32 miles on pavement.

Thanks for all the info. :icon_thumleft: Looks like several to choose from. I'll be walking miles on plowed farmers' fields that may or may not be muddy.

I bought a pair of MUCK Boots for muddy field hunting. If they are good enough for the farmers, they are good enough for me.
