So today I met up with my buddy at an old pounded park. I was kind of late with a hangover ;) When I got there my buddy had 3 silvers already so I started swinging and my first
target was a 1943 merc. Dug 3 more targets (low tones) which were junk and came across a bouncy 11-27. After a couple of seconds it locked on to 12-30 with the cursor in the middle of the screen. So that got me curious as I dug some gold before on the same cursor position. Dug a 6 inch plug and bam at the bottom of the plug was Gold! Called my buddy over as I was jumping up & down he confirmed my find and got some water to wash off the dirt. After a rinse a beautiful 1906 D 5$ gold emerged. Also found a 1904 V nickel and 5 wheaties, my buddy found 2 war nickels, 2 mercs, barber dime and over 20 wheaties. What a day, I'm so happy :)

Thanks for looking & HH!

Minelabs have two numbers on the readout, the first represents the amount of probability of ferrous metals, the second number represents the conductivity of the target. So ideally your looking for numbers like 0-30 which would equate to about a 90+ on your AT Pro.

Not to hijack the thread, but that's wrong. Most coins have an FE number along the 12 line. The only ones that go all the up to the 1 FE line are silver dollars.

Not always true, sometimes deep Indians and wheats come up 1-32,37 and a few other times I found silver Rosie's and mercs at 1-50. Numbers change allot when using manual sensitivity too.

Right but the silver halves I've found were around 8-47. Don't know where he's getting "0-30" as a target number though.

Congrats on the gold coin! I am constantly amazed at what I see posted as found in parks. I haven't found a silver coin in a park for almost 20 years!

Thanks Sovereignelite, whoa 20 years? Are you hunting modern parks?

Oh that! Well, it's like to the guy who just showed up at a tackle shop with the world's largest bass.

"Where'd you catch that!!!"

"Oh, down at the local skating pond."

It's enough that a WONDERFUL coin has been found and shared. If you found it, would you give clues as to where? LOL :laughing9:

wow that's awesome! I sure hope I get to experience a find like that some day. congrats!

Thanks jewelrguy, I hope you get one too :)

Awww.... You didn't find that! All the competitor companies swear an E-Trac won't find gold - NOT!!!

Thank you for defending the MineLab reputation :)

Wow knitpicking.

Was just making a simplified statement about minelabs numbering system to answer a question.

Furthermore, 90+ on AT Pro is silver dollar range, so it is a fairly accurate statement. I have both machines.

Good job and also 1month ago my buddy joe found an 1852 $1.00 gold coin and he was so psyched about it. You can check his channel out on YouTube and you'll find his video of the gold and please subscribe to him because he would love it! His name is surfman1968. Thanks, BK

On every detectorist list and you just scratched it off yours....congrats!
