Some teens were on their way to play some basketball and stopped
to ask the old dude if he EVER found anything good with that thing.

I said sure, I ALWAYS find something. Then, I dug my penny
and showed it to them. They all laughed at the old idiot, digging for
pennies in the dirt.

Right after they left, I got this.






I remember I used to say to my self when water hunting, to
all those "professional fisher-wannabees" in the boats, Go ahead, laugh!
I'll do mine on the way to the bank. LOL



Not too shabby, for a hunted out park, I must say. LOL

Nah, they were ok. I was just the current object of ridicule for the day. LOL They have enough
to go through just being teens. If I can help them to feel superior about themselves, (with no harm), no prob.

I've been thru worse hazing in the lockeroom. (WOW! Now where did THAT come from!!! Another millennium altogether!! LOL )

The ring is a fantastic find. I mostly detect older homes and have yet to find a single piece of jewelry at any of them. Both rings I found were at parks. In your case I don't think any place is hunted out until YOU get done with it.....LOL

Funny you should mention that, when I'm confronted in the field my digging tool does seem to find itself at the ready position of the standard Corp stance. Fist/blade by lil finger/ tucked back along the arm. Never thought of it before, makes sense that they might be hesitant. (unless they're packing their own heat of course. )

Thanks but no. I'm nothing special when it comes to hunting. I know this because these "hunted out" places I go to have ALSO been hunted by me before. LOL I miss stuff too because I tend to use the blind squirrel technique. I just let the Lord take me where He wants me to go. Works better for me.

Love the ring! But the pendant with horse heads attached to red fish is the one I want, lol. Love horses in all forms! I'm a short lil ole lady detectorist and kids show a lot of interest rather than making fun of me, but perhaps that's cuz I mostly hunt beaches rather than parks. In parks have met the occasional strange men and kooky women though, lol. And one real big nutty woman who when I let her "try out" my detector kept an iron grip on it and would not return it to me! I gave her my coldest matriarchal stare, said, "Let go or I'll phone the police so fast your head will spin!" and she snorted, let go and muttered off elsewhere. Strange. I scored a silver ring and small charm with a medical symbol on it, and a wheat cent, (but no toy car), Sunday. I'm finally out of the clad zone! One of these days I will post pics, when someone shows me how.

YAY! So my prediction came true?? You finally hit silver?!! YAY!

As far as pics go, I've shown this before. On the same screen where you type your reply is a little menu at the top.



Just click on the menu option pointed out by the arrow and follow your nose. It's so easy, even Blingie could do it!

I had someone try to slide their hand over toward my detector whilst I was digging, I told him the last one who tried that, they now call lefty. With that I stabbed the ground. He apologized, didn't mean nothin, but, he did beat a hasty retreat as soon as possible. LOL
