New Year. What the halibut it looked dark yet inviting with cobalt, black clouds lurking in the sky ready to unleash it's power. The need for a fix was stirring deeply. Still a bit on the stiff side from the other days outing. Man it's great to be able to dig this time of year. Taking advantage of the school holiday I decided on a few (well two) giving each the 20 minute once over. At both locations I did my civic duty fixing up the mess made by the infamous "Tank Trap Terrorist Detectorist." Took about 8 spades full of dirt and rock to fill those puppies....finding but a few coppers and a blue frog...with legs!
At this time the calling came so Nogo was loaded up, a short drive and Dad and I had a coffee while watching "Blue Blood." Just glad it was not my blood being spilt. Those Reagans can do no wrong......right!
Since I was close a quick skirt to the Dingle beaconed. Parked in the lot next to the grounds keepers abode and sort of noodled around there. My eye caught a flash of pink. Being right next to the main road I saw an octogenarian in the middle of the road laying there. Moving. As I approached 2 cars passed on the other side of the road not seeing or not caring that this lady lay there in danger. Dropping my spade and detector I limp gimped over to the fallen lady and asked if she incurred any injuries to which she softly replied, "Thanks for asking dear but I walk and fall all the time." Dawned on me at this time that a seniors home was not far away. With the aid of a young lady who seemed caring; she stopped and blocked the traffic as we lifted the fragile (at least 90 pounds) by taking her around the waist under her armpits as she had told us "She had no shoulders." Glad that someone had stopped to help me as I staggered lifting her up. That immediately got me to thinking about how thoughtful Marie was by getting me a suitcase with wheels before my last UK trip. The spry senior smiled, thanked us and continued meandering towards the parks entrance.
The dig continued but even this little lifting had tweaked my shoulder. Quit there and then. Thinking after today I got my years quota of "good press" for our hobby!

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Samaritan indeed.
Great accounting of your swinging Leslie.

I haven't read "Dingle" since Treasure Island! L.o.l..

Frogs can represent symbolism and meaning ; depending on the soul interpreting.
But perhaps coincides with your helping a fellow human that was down.
Being as you put your detector aside to assist her , I can't ask how she rang up on it...

Congrats on the outings while the brief warmer weather holds the frozen like iron soils at bay a little longer.
And as always thanks for sharing.
