I own a blue tube and love it never tried a green one but I have been told they have different tones and the green sticker has some sort of emf blocking I would like to give a green one a spin just to see but I am really happy with what I have

I did not know there was a difference, I thought the 1000 just meant that it is the 10" coil.

I believe the newer Excal, the green, just has some additional shielding. This just sort of helps by providing a little better stability in certain situations, such as when waves lap over the coil or when the coil suddenly comes into contact with the bottom or the water or is suddenly removed from either. These actions use to cause some falsing in the old blues but for the most part this could be eliminated by good coil control.

i have 3 versions of the Excalibur, early blue, late blue, and a 2. I don't notice any significant difference in them except for the headphones and coil size. Operation seems to work the same.
