wow the mosquitos in florida after these rains are redickqless i went out this evening to do some dirt fishin at this old house and i swear there was a couple of times it felt like i was lifting up off the ground lol i look like a chinese acupuncture test patient and it is driving me nuts i want to dirt fsh this whole area so bad it is about 150 years old and the guy who built it owned and operated a sawmill/cotton gin/and ghristmill at goldhead state park so there fore there is alot of history to dig up but damn the blood suckers they even suck up the bug spray lol.

i grew up near Ocalla and tell my friends here a Florida mosquito sounds like a B-52 bomber...lol

Hey, ease up on the mosquito name calling, after all, they are the NJ state bird :icon_thumleft: :laughing7:

swamp skeeters are HUGE and hungry critters -- 100% deet don't put it directly on yer skin however put it on the clothes you wear -watch out for ticks too -with the mild winter we had there sure to be out in force --chiggers oif course are a whole nother form of evil.

yeah i call them humming bird mosquitos i went today and did a lil diggiin used off it worked for about 30 minutes then they started in on me so i left wasnt finding anything anyways just some old cartidges and found 4 38 special shells about 6ins down i really think the bounty hunter discovery 2200 isnt finding the coins the places ive been going r over 100yrs old one of the places i got was an old hospital back during the civil war.but all i find with the bounty hunter is trash trash and more trash not even good trash.

And here I thought this posting had something to do with Politics so thought I'd check it out before it was removed! The skeeters in CA are kinda tough as well though garlic and deet seem to keep them at bay and I do mean using the garlic on the inside and the deet on the outside. The comment about using the deet on your clothing not on your skin is wise as after a few days it will dry the dickens out of your skin and may cause hair loss, I try to blame my baldness on something. Happy Hunting and keep the blood suckers out of office, I mean off of you.......63bkpkr

Try "hands so soft"...it works for me........HH

I have the same issue here in Indiana. I spent 20 minutes in the woods this morning. I was bit so many times I'm afraid I may just turn into a mosquito by morning.

Skin-so-Soft (Avon) may work for some. I, personally, like either Bens (100% Deet) liquid (small orange bottle) or Bullfrog (green bottle - has sunscreen in it).

Our skeeters moonlight as NH Air National Guard planes.
