black smith hammered Iron?

I was in my bermuda triangle yard again today and found this. It looks black smith hammered and is one piece. I can see hammer marks all over. Can someone help me date this? I live in Shippensburg which was founded in 1730. Any input from this would be great :)

By the looks of the iron, that thing couldn't have been buried very long in my estimation.

I've bought and sold lots of sad irons over the years, and many of them are as rusty as one can get.

It is hard to say there's a lot of people have lived at my house before me . It was under a tree with soft soil that's all I know.
