Black Gold !!

Get these stained/tarnished golds in the springtime after the big winter storms....these black golds have been down awhile, and this one was down 10 inches, and that's after a foot of sand was moved this winter. Probably been down there since the 80s....nice diamonds that test out....18 in all, and she polished right up !!

The golds are flowing and spring break is here !! Wooo hooo !!

Got a second black gold this season yesterday....an old "love story" gold ring with ruby...again I thought fake, but as I wore it on my pinky tip the black patina started to rub off. She polished up at home, and had definitely been down a long time...tested the ruby with a UV light, and it lit up like it should. Apparently the "love story" brand was popular in the 60s 70s....it's a very dainty small gold, but every gram counts, and the black golds are rare for me....I try to take pics of the patina because once you polish it's gone

And the florescent ruby under UV light.

My new spot is giving me golds that have been down since the 90s....I have watched people try and give up on this spot over the years....it's my favorite spot at the moment, and it took me 3-5 hunts before I got dialed in here. These virgin spots only come around every 10-15 years, and I plan on mining this spot like Parker from gold rush !!

Certainly the season still has a lot of potential to get a few more stellar hunts in as this.
