Some real crapola if ya ask me...
but hey what do I know.

We would all benefit as a whole if we instituted a finds policy / mentality modeled after the U.K's.
I mean sheeeesh...
Their historical "value" of items FAR exceeds ours here as far as age and dating etc...
Yet they seem to have learned that is it better to get along with seekers than to try and ban them and potentially loose it due to lame laws.

AARC....good description of the relevant laws and the "loopholes" in them. Yes, I am an attorney, but I don't specialize in maritime or the Submerged Items Act....immigration and family law was my area. Not exactly relevant to this topic....but thanks for educating me AARC, much appreciated.

Florida particularly is one State that is very serious about protection of its historical resources.

IF you dive... and detect... you cannot dig.
According to the wording within the state law.

SO... detect away... just don't disturb the bottom. heh

Speaking of disturbing the bottom, I can't help but be reminded of something called the "Stingray Shuffle".
Do the stingray shuffle to avoid nasty stings | Tampa Bay Times

And from your neck of the woods too, AARC.
Go figure?

(I realize this isn't the same thing as digging for sunken treasure!)
