Relic Hunting
Well today is my birthday and I turned 24. Unfortunatly I had to hunt alone today, but I was rewarded with 2 buttons and an 1898 IH. The flat button has an eagle on the back of it. I also posted a previous hunt that I didn't have time to post. On that hunt I got a 1775 KG III and a very tiny button. I also got the a new coil for the E-Trac, the 10x12 SEF. I am excited to see what this thing can do in the field. The air tests look promissing :icon_thumleft:.

Well I just could not wait till next week to use the SEF coil :laughing7:. So I went to the Red Brick House and really put it through its paces. I hit the spot where we got all our largies from. We have been over and over this with the small and big coils on the E-Tracs. This is also chalk full of iron. This coil had not problem seeing through it all. First target was the button, only 5 inches deep but surronded by 4 nails. Wish I had taken the camera to show a picture. Then I got a mixed iron/largie signal. Soon as I got in the hole with the probe I knew it was a largie. Only 6 inches deep. Small iron chunk next to it in the hole. 1817 largie.

Sorry about the crappie pics but its dark now and didn't want to wait till tomorrow for pictures outside. I love the SEF coil. A :icon_thumright: for this coil.

Great KG III and buttons, John! It is nice to see PA producing the goods.

Re: Birthday Hunt

Happy Birthday. Love your finds!!!

I just cannot find any Indian Heads with my Explorer. Have only found three in the last 4 years all with my Deleon (which I no longer have)

Re: Birthday Hunt

Happy Birthday JD! :)

Looks like a good hunt..... was wondering when I'd get to see that KGIII cleaned up! :icon_thumright:

I think that the variety of the largie is N-9. If anyone can help verify let me know please. Thanks for all the B-day wishes. This was a good day. :icon_sunny:

Hey now that is great! :icon_thumright:

I saw the field was mowed when I drove by this evening..... did you hit it? ???
