Bird problems...

Had to have one of my large east-end windows replaced because it cracked from birds. Quail, doves, etc, Cooper's hawk and mourning dove lay dead outside, side-by-side belly up, hawk chasing dove. Sounded like a shotgun blast and the house shook. DNR said throw the hawk in the garbage do not try and keep it.

Small birds hit the window lay stunned and fly away later, I didn't realize that 90% of the time they die soon after. Their tiny brains swell and they suffer concussion.

We have the squirrels, both red and grey tap on the slider door glass if we forget to give them daily treats. The birds fly onto the kitchen window ledge and remind us they are also waiting for their treats.

Funny!
My aunt in New Jersey used to have a squirrel open the screen door and knock on the wooden door for food...
she named it henrietta... LOL
She regrets starting that!!

Professor I hope you're feeding the fox and grey squirrels and not the reds. Reds are part carnivirous and ruthless upon bird eggs and young, and the gonads of fox and grey squirrel.
