Hi,

My grandad bought this years ago and the only information I have is its a Billib and something says Monte Carlo. I've tried researching online but cannot find one similar. I want to sell it but don't want to get ripped off.

I was just hoping to get an idea of price or can someone identify what this grandfather clock is.

Any information would be great.

Regards

Jason

Welcome to T-net

BilliB are still in existence. They were establlshed in 1969, so your clock can't be more than 50 years old. It doesn't match anything in their current offerings and they don't have a 'Monte Carlo' range, nor can I find any evidence that they ever did. Is this perhaps a reference to the movement rather that the clock itself? You can get some idea of value from current selling prices on their website:

https://billib.co.uk/product-category/grandfather-clocks/

Why not contact them by Email: [email protected] ? It's unlikely they'll comment on value, but I'm sure they'll be pleased to know one of their clocks is still going strong and can probably help you with the style name and a possible date.

My WAG is the clock is modern simply because of the color of the case.
Are there any marking on the back of the case (initials, words, printed material, etc.)?
I know nothing about these clocks, just giving you a WAG.
Welcome to treasurenet !!

Thanks for quick response, I've emailed Billib themselves to request some further information on the style/type. However after reiwing the link attached, I think I've found one very similar 👍 (Attached). All the information has helped so thanks again.

Thanks for answering, I checked the back but couldn't see anything distinct, markings or letters etc...

Nice Clock you have there Jaspnc91, I also just got a Grandfather Clock and was looking for info. Not to sell it but just to learn a little history about the Clock. Wish you all the best on your research.
