"Bill Clinton Says Americans Will Get Used to Communism"

Guess he feels if he got use to being married to Hillary anyone can get use to anything....................

I literally laughed out loud at this! She is quite a piece of work, that one.

On another note, I hate it when thread titles lie outright.

First, Bill Clinton has clearly never said any such thing about communism.

Second, it belies a profound political ignorance when people use communism and socialism interchangeably. It's like that member (I forget which), who insisted that fascism was on the political left. If you don't know such simple, basic, and foundational aspects of political belief systems, you have no business getting involved let alone running your mouth.

I knew it was going to go this way, the minute Steve Jobs introduced "social" media to the American public we were doomed to a life of social stuff that doesn't work,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,anywhere:icon_scratch::occasion14::sleepy2:

Like social security?

Socialism is a station on the road to Communism.

Marx said that democracy should be used to establish certain socialist policies to engineer the society toward communism.

So if I say that Bill Clinton didn't actually say that, what does that do to the thread?

Clinton deluding himself is no different than the posters deluding themselves. It's still delusion. Believing your own delusions has a name. Anyone care to say what it is?

Clinton wasn't deluding himself when he made that statement either. He was just plain lying. My money is on that he wasn't a victim of his own beliefs.

That's kinda like saying the Tea Party is on the road to fascism, except that the latter is more accurate because it compares two political ideologies while the former (your quote) attempts to conflate an economic system with an incompatible social system.

P.S. The Tea Party is, in fact, on the road to fascism.

P.P.S. An ultra-conservative quoting Marx is like RJC quoting Clinton, so if you don't mind I'd love a citation for the above quote.

"“We have seen… that the first step in the revolution by the working class is to raise the proletariat to the position of the ruling class, to establish democracy. The proletariat will use its political supremacy to wrest by degrees all capital from the bourgeoisie; to centralize all of instruments of production in the hands of the state.”

"The significance of Critical-Utopian Socialism and Communism bears an inverse relation to historical development. In proportion as the modern class struggle develops and takes definite shape, this fantastic standing apart from the contest, these fantastic attacks on it, lose all practical value and all theoretical justification. Therefore, although the originators of these systems were, in many respects, revolutionary, their disciples have, in every case, formed mere reactionary sects. They hold fast by the original views of their masters, in opposition to the progressive historical development of the proletariat. They, therefore, endeavour, and that consistently, to deaden the class struggle and to reconcile the class antagonisms. They still dream of experimental realisation of their social Utopias, of founding isolated “phalansteres”, of establishing “Home Colonies”, or setting up a “Little Icaria”— duodecimo editions of the New Jerusalem — and to realise all these castles in the air, they are compelled to appeal to the feelings and purses of the bourgeois. By degrees, they sink into the category of the reactionary [or] conservative Socialists depicted above, differing from these only by more systematic pedantry, and by their fanatical and superstitious belief in the miraculous effects of their social science.
They, therefore, violently oppose all political action on the part of the working class; such action, according to them, can only result from blind unbelief in the new Gospel.
-Communist Manifesto Karl Marx

"Thus “true socialism” is nothing but the transfiguration of proletarian communism"

"its mission is to reveal for the first time the truth of communism and socialism, the absolute, true socialism."

-Volume II of The German Ideology by Marx and Engels True Socialism by Karl Marx and Frederick Engels

A few more founding fathers of communist views

"The goal of socialism is communism"

"When there is state there can be no freedom, but when there is freedom there can be no state."

"It is true that libery is precious; so precious that it must be rationed"

"He who now talks about the "freedom of the press" goes backward, and halts our headlong course towards Socialism."

"One man with a gun can control 100 without one"

-Vladimer Lenin

"World dictatorship can be established only when the victory of socialism has been achieved in certain countries or groups of countries …"

"If the opposition (citizen) disarms, well and good. If it refuses to disarm, we shall disarm it ourselves."

Joseph Stalin

“We have seen… that the first step in the revolution by the working class is to raise the proletariat to the position of the ruling class"

That doesn't look too likely now, does it?

Bum, believe what you want, socialism is a step on the road to communism, all of the advocates on communism knew this and talk about it.

Both socialism and communism are a disease on the rights and freedoms of citizens, which is why both stress strict gun gun control in order to reach their goal of domination over their people.

Neither socialism or communism can be achieved as long as the population are armed with firearms, rights and freedoms, those have to be eliminated first which they are trying to do right now in this country...
