Hello My Friends!!
I just got back from my "silver park" today, and the silver was flowing as usual for me. I met Curt(Bibleman) at my favorite "honey hole" site early this morning. I was just hoping to get one silver coin out of this spot today. I have been detecting this little spot for the past 7 weeks, and it has produced an enormous amount of silver/wheats for me. More than I could ever have expected. Curt has been a good luck charm to me on my past two hunts to this spot. I have netted 14 silvers while detecting with him, including 6 today! I never would have believed it if I didn't witness it with my own two eyes. And I finished my day off in style with a '44 Walking Liberty Half. The Walker didn't have the high tone silver sound. It sounded like a clad dime, but ID'ed like a typical half dollar, so I dug it. At around 6" down, I scooped a handful of dirt out of the ground, laid it on my mat, and saw the rim of a large silver....if you're an old coin hunter, hardly anything can match the excitement of seeing a large rimmed silver coin in your dirt pile. Right after digging the Walker, I told Curt I was calling it a day! My final tally was 6 Silver ('44 Walker, 3 Mercs('17, '41, '43), 2 Rosies('54, '64)), along with 9 Wheaties. Two of the wheats were semi-key daters; 1 chopped '14S and '11S.
Another fine day at the "silver park".....When will it go dry? Not even I know that. But I do know that I dug my 155th silver coin from this park this year. Oh Yes, and my streak...It's still alive at 34 straight silver hunts!!
It was good hunting with you today, Curt. You've definitely been a good luck charm to me.
Thanks for looking!
