went to a old time fav spot of mine in CT. this morn
got off to a late start and long line at the entrance got me in the water later than wanted
and it also meant more people in the water limiting where I could go
started off real slow and thought I might be looking at a skunk
got a real faint signal and was surprised when I saw IH penny at bottom of my scoop
been yrs since I got one here and usually not in this area - 1900
was happy to get something old - locals pepper here (2 hr drive for me) and
as you can see they get most of the fresh drops - but last few times here in the past - I know if I
cant get the new stuff - I can slow down and usually pull something deep - got in a spot with deep large old iron
tried working thru it - got a faint signal in middle of some huge iron targets - was surprised when I saw large disc come up
this is my 9th silver half this year - not to far away got another whisper and thought I might have a silver dime -
nice to see glint of gold amongst the rocks and shells in my scoop - was down about 1 1/2 feet
silver chain was down real deep and was encrusted - it must have had a silver medal on it at one time
think someone else may have walked away with it and missed the chain - I checked the whole area to no avail
looking for it - once again I was hoping for a fresh gold drop or 2 or 3... but was happy with a few old coins and
a nice old gold

Very nice love the signets

To take a page from the Casper book---ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1441575858.877756.jpg

That's a great little ring, probably Victorian? I found a similar one 2 years ago (my only gold ring), love the etched initials.

Do you know if the half is a Walker or Barber?

That is a great day!!! The old gold signet ring is outstanding!!!! Good stuff as always!

Great results from the water Casper, liking the ring. Any plans on cleaning up the half?

Looks like a great hunt !! Congrats
Glen

great finds! I really like that coin with the shell attached, id leave it just like that!

I like how the sea shell is clinging to its buddy. I'd hate to separate them after all they've been through.

I always enjoy your hunts.

this one will most likely stay the way it is - I like the scallop shell stuck to it
silver caked like this from this spot from past experience - when cleaned come out super crappy and real thin - so not worth the trouble to clean
I toss most of the silver like this into my display coffee table top

Haha wow, looks like you mugged a pirate!

thats what I was wondering too. Thou it is very cool with the shell on it
if I had to bet on it - probably a Walker - over 10 yrs ago when the older stuff was a little more common here - I did get 2 Barber halfs
very close to this area down deep - but I know I never found an IH in this exact area - most of the ones I found here in the past were in an area where they gave small steam boat rides - might have cost a penny back then - don't know

Nice gold ring!
